Field Trip Reflection Guide
The purpose of a field trip reflection is to draw out meaning from your experience- to actually identify what you did or didn’t learn through the experience.
A reflection can take a number of forms, including:
These are just some ideas- you can propose others that are not on this list.
Listed below are several ideas that may help you get started with reflecting on what you learned. You may select the “starters” that work best for you. Remember, some may work well for some activities, but not for others. Try to include a few!
You are required a minimum of three (3) paragraphs, with each paragraph composed of eight (8) sentences, in each daily reflection. You must submit your reflection by 8 p.m. each day to your chaperones.
A reflection can take a number of forms, including:
- A reflective journal entry
- A web page dedicated to the field trip on your Google portfolio site
- A PhotoStory 3 movie, using photos from the trip, text and voice narration to describe your learning
- An Animoto (Look up examples in Youtube. Free trial is available.)
- A podcast (a verbal report about your learning recorded on PC, edited and layered with music)
- A montage (a collection of drawings, photos and clippings with an accompanying journal)
- An original song/rap
- A vlog (a video journal where you describe you learning posted to your Google portfolio)
- A scrapbook with photos and artifacts from the trip
